What’s a flange bushing?
Flange bushings are sleeve-style bearings with an integral flange, or shoulder, at one end. The flange aids alignment during assembly, provides a positive locating surface, and serves as a built-in thrust face to control axial movement. Because the flange sets the position of the bushing and prevents it from walking, installation is faster, more repeatable, and requires fewer separate components.
This configuration is especially well-suited to through-bolt and pass-through shaft applications. Flanged bronze bushings mount flush and square to a plate or bracket, allowing hardware to run parallel to the mounting surface.
